You can’t retire until you’ve actually worked, Dave

In 50 years in law enforcement, Dave Kramer never worked a day.

So Sheriff David Kramer is retiring and an open house is from 1 to 4 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, January 10 at the Boundary County Annex. I REALLY DON’T KNOW HOW HE CAN RETIRE SINCE IN ORDER TO RETIRE YOU MUST HAVE WORKED FIRST AND DAVE KRAMER HAS NEVER WORKED A DAY IN HIS LIFE!

I know Dave Kramer about as well as anyone can. He was a police officer and or Chief of Police for most of my 28 years as a Councilman and Mayor of the City of Bonners Ferry. I voted for and appointed him over and over to his law enforcement positions during those years.

I appointed him because David absolutely loved law enforcement. It was never work for him. Instead it was the love of his life.

I am not going to be present for his open house tomorrow. By me observing him, I learned that to play in life is much more important than to work, so I will be in Hawaii tomorrow Chief.

Enjoy your day off tomorrow from playing. You earned every bit of it.

Your friend,
Mayor Darrell Kerby

  1. Thank you for your service to our community. Our county was in good hands with you in charge. Darrell much enjoyed his time riding motorcycles with you. Happy Retirement πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ˜Ž
