Tonight, in a ceremony to acknowledge their lifetime of hard work in the game of basketball, Asher Williams, Brody Rice, and Thomas Bateman, signed to commit to compete at the next level of athletics, college.
Both Brody Rice and Thomas Bateman will start college in the fall and the begin their basketball careers at Treasure Valley Community College. Asher Williams will be headed East to Montana Tech to launch his career in college basketball.
Only about 7% of high school athletes go on to compete at the next level. This trio of basketball players is among the elite.
“These guys are a record-breaking group of kids.” Coach Williams says, “They have grit and tenacity. They have hearts of champions…and I am proud of them.”
All three athletes spoke of their gratefulness to their families, teammates and coaches for supporting them every step of the way.
Badger fans will be sad to see them go but will undoubtedly follow the journey they are now on.
