Hope House is a non-profit organization that has been serving Boundary County since 2009 originally founded by Amy and Stan Christopherson. After they were called to the mission field, they graciously and gracefully handed the baton to Eli and Anna Pine.
Hope House originally started as an avenue to assist children by providing essential items for school that their families could not afford. Hope House provides hygiene items, food, clothes and many other household items for families along with the basic school year needs.
The biggest event is the Back to School Bash that has been held every year since its infancy. This event provides backpacks full of school supplies, shoes, clothes and resources for families.
Many items and monitory donations are donated by community members throughout the year which allows for purchase of shoes from Larson’s Department Store, backpacks and extra supplies that haven’t already been provided.
With this event, Hope House is able to help 250 kids prepare for school.
Each year at the Back to School Bash, Hope House provides a free community BBQ, bounce house fun and other family friendly activities.
Eli and Anna want to extend a heartfelt thanks to the community for all of their consistent and generous support of Hope House over the years. “Without the support of this community,” Eli says, “we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.”
This year’s Back to School Bash will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at the Boundary County Fairgrounds.
