On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Alec and Bree, children of Kyle and Tiffany Maas, were headed home from a school fundraiser when a semi-truck hit Alec’s Mini Cooper and sent it flying, eventually landing on the shoulder of Highway 95 just south of Turner Hill Road. Life Flight was called in and promptly flew Bree from the scene to Sacred Heart in Spokane and Alec shortly after from Boundary Community Hospital.

Bree had a lacerated spleen and broken collar bone, and Alec had a skull fracture, broken wrist and lacerated liver. Both had concussions.
For all that occurred, both children are doing well and were released from the hospital today.
“The kids are doing well and I’m feeling blessed they are still alive and with me.” their mother, Tiffany says, “It’s been so hard, but we are officially discharged from Sacred Heart. They were gracious enough to let Bree stay in the room with Alec even though they discharged her last night, Alec’s brain checked out and we got the clearance to head home but both do have minor concussions, and we will keep them calm and hydrated to make recovery smooth!
We have many more appointments to go to in the next weeks and months to make sure everything stays where it’s supposed to, but I wanted to update and say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers and constant support through this whole nightmare I’d like to have never experienced.”
