44th annual Care-N-Share Christmas deadline near

Linda Lederhos, right, and a few of her happy Care-N-Share Christmas helpers from 2017.

For 44 years, Linda Lederhos and a shifting band of happy helpers, elves, if you will, have been working long and hard for the sole purpose of seeing to it that no child in Boundary County wakes to an empty Christmas tree on Christmas morning.

The deadline to apply for a child to receive a Christmas gift is December 1, and you don’t have to be the child’s parent or even family to make application. If you know of children whose families are struggling or going through difficult, by all means, submit an application!

Applications are available at E.L. Automation, 64 Automation Lane on Highway 95 1 1/2 miles north of Three Mile, Panhandle Health, 7402 Caribou Street, or the Bonners Ferry Seniors Hospitality Center, 6635 Lincoln Street.

For those who’d like to help make a local child’s Christmas a little more bright, monetary donations can be made to Care-N-Share at any Wells Fargo Bank branch or checks can be mailed to E.L. Internet, 515014 Hwy 95, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.

To sponsor a family or child, take a tag from the Bonners Ferry Trees of Sharing at the Boundary County Courthouse, 6452 Kootenai Street, or Mountain West Bank, 7186 First Street, Bonners Ferry.

To learn more or to find out more ways you can help, call Linda at (208) 490-1483.
