‘Peace’ plan? Where is everybody?

Where is Jim Risch and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee? Who authored the Russian Ukrainian “Peace” Plan?

At a security conference meeting in Halifax Nova Scotia (according to an Associated Press article), Mike Rounds, a Senator from South Dakota, made the statement, “This administration was not responsible for this release (of the peace plan) in its current form. They want to utilize it as a starting point. It looked more like it was written in Russian to begin with.”

Meanwhile Marco Rubio was posting on X: “The peace proposal was authored by the U. S. It is a strong framework for ongoing negotiations.”

And Tommy Pigott, a State Department spokesperson, said “The Senators’ account was blatantly false.”

And meanwhile, we hear nothing from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, especially from Jim Risch, its chairman. Or Pete Ricketts from Nebraska.

What a fiasco! Chaos!

All three of these senators, Rounds, Risch and Ricketts (the 3 Rs) are up for reelection. And all three are being challenged by veterans who are running as Independents and support Ukraine. It’s time to bring these candidates, their common sense and military honed leadership to the Senate.

If you reside in one of their states, vote for them in November, 2026:

  • Todd Achilles, Idaho
  • Brain Bengs, South Dakota
  • Dan Osborn, Nebraska

Bring independent leadership to the U.S. Senate!

  1. Pray tell, what peace plan did the Biden administration float for this war that started under their reign. Joe Biden even told Putin, A “small incursion” would be okay. Sir, where were you when this war started?

    1. Mr. Perez, your comment, “Joe Biden even told Putin, ‘a small incursion’ would be okay,” is false.

As Russian troops massed on the Ukrainian border in January, 2022, Biden predicted Russia “will move in” to Ukraine, even as he acknowledged disunity within NATO over how to respond to a “minor incursion.”

While Biden vowed severe economic consequences on Russia should Putin send his troops over the frontier, including restricting its financial transitions in US dollars, he suggested Western nations were not in sync on what to do should a lesser violation occur.

“It’s one thing if it’s a minor incursion and we end up having to fight about what to do and not do,” Biden told reporters. “But if they actually do what they’re capable of doing with the forces amassed on the border, it is going to be a disaster for Russia if they further invade Ukraine.”

After an unprecedented visit to Ukraine in February, 2023, Biden told a gathering in Warsaw, Poland, that “brutality will never grind down the will of a free Ukraine. Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia. Never.”

      1. The comment Biden did make was close enough in spirit. The last administration was an empty suit that encouraged aggression. The ” just stop” did not work. You can’t defend it. Biden was all talk and Russia is still in Ukraine.
