Did you know?

It was the 9-year-old nephew of the American mathematician Milton Sirotta in 1920 who gave the world the word “googol.”
Sirotta proposed the number 1 followed by 100 zeros and was at a loss to name it. His nephew exclaimed, “It’s a googol!” It took a kid’s brain to come up with a word that would, one century later, be know the world over…Google!
As it turns out, Sirotta WAS the 9-year-old nephew of the mathematician Edward Kasner…great minds grow and think alike! The stories are often confused.
