In October, Davy Bryant, 41, Naples, traveled to Spokane and brought home medals after taking third place in men’s open bodybuilding and fourth in men’s physique in a qualifying round of the National Physique Committee (NPC) Night of Champions at Northern Quest Resort and Casino.
On the last weekend in January, he traveled for two days of competition in the U.S. Powerlifting Association competition in Kennewick, and when he came home, he brought home two more medals, this time in weightlifting in both the open and masters divisions of the raw bench press.
He next set his sights on training for the Empire Classic Bodybuilding Competition at the Spokane Convention Center, and on Saturday he brought home not only more gold, winning the men’s classic physique competition, but he qualified to compete nationally, one more step on the grueling road to an International Fitness and Body Building Federation pro card and the chance to compete as a professional bodybuilder.
“I give the Glory to God, and a special thanks to my family for their love and support through this journey,” Bryant said. “My loving girlfriend Mel, who helped motivate me though the toughest part of this prep, Mike Davis and Iron Mike’s Gym for their vast knowledge of bodybuilding, health and fitness. I hope to motivate the younger upcoming generation to chase thier dreams and believe in themselves enough to make those dreams a reality. You can do anything if you set your mind to it.”
