It’s playoff time, Badger fans!

Piper BanningThe Badger boys varsity basketball team are the Intermountain league champions with a regular season record of 18-3 and 2-0 league, and they’ll host their only league opponent, the Timberlake Tigers in a two-game district playoff next week, with the first game set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 20. They will then again face off against the Tigers at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 22, again on the Badger’s home court at Bonners Ferry High School.

The Badgers, who ended the season on a 12-game winning streak, dominated Timberlake in their two regular season games, winning at home in the Backwoods Brawl 84-45 on Friday, January 19, then going on the road to Spirit Lake to prove it was no fluke as they came home with an 82-33 victory.

Of the 18 Idaho 3A high schools, the Badgers are ranked fifth, the 6-13 Tigers are 13th. Snake River is currently at he top of the conference with a season record of 20 wins and two losses. McCall-Donnely, 10-0 in league and 17-1 on the season.

If the Badgers and Tigers go 1-1 in district play, a third game will be held and the winner of the final game will travel to Meridian High School for the 2024 Idaho State 3A Championship Tournament February 29 through March 2. If either team goes 2-0 (GO, BADGERS!) no third game will be necessary and it will be that team hitting the road south

Badger fans home and away are welcome and encouraged to come on out and cheer them on to the state championship next week! Tickets are $6 at the door.
