Marian Rosalie Rosco

Marian Rosalie RoscoMarian Rosco passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024 at her residence in Sandpoint. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at United Methodist Church, 6568 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry. A luncheon and graveside service will follow. The family would like to invite all who knew and loved her to attend.

She was born November 26, 1935, to Harold and Emma Martin in Coeur d’Alene, where she joined her older siblings, brother Art and sister Claudia.

Marian attended school in Bonners Ferry, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Russell Rosco. They were married on December 26, 1954.

Marian was a devoted wife and mother. In Bonners Ferry she raised and adored her three children; Tim, Chuck and Connie. She also took care of their home and supported Russ while he provided for the family.

Marian loved her United Methodist Church and her church family. It was here that she was baptized and also became a member of the choir. Marian would have loved and been greatly thankful to the Methodist ladies group who will be helping with her celebration of life.

Some of our favorite memories of Mom were when she and Aunt Claudia sang duets at church. Their voices blended beautifully whether it was singing in front of the congregation or just singing at Grandma’s house with Grandma playing the piano. We have great memories of all of us singing songs around the piano.

Marian was a member of the local Jaycee-ettes and Beta Sigma Phi Chapters. She was also a longtime volunteer for the American Cancer Society … selling daffodils, helping to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. She volunteered for many years as an election worker in Boundary County and over the years she supported the local schools striving to have the best education opportunities for all the local kids.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents Emma and Harold Martin, sister and brother-In-law, Claudia and Herb Thornton, and her husband of almost 69 years, Russell.

She is survived by her brother Art, her favorite cousin Mary Jo, children Tim Rosco and his wife Connie, Chuck Rosco and his wife Kathie, Connie Rae Moon and her husband Mike, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Marian will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her enjoyment of playing Yahtzee and card games with the family, her yummy pies and homemade pie crust, her flowers and her numerous afghans that she made and gave away or donated to different worthy causes around Bonners Ferry.

We’re glad that Mom and Dad are together again. That’s really all she wanted at the end of her life.

The family would like to thank the Bridge Assisted Living staff who went above and beyond for Mom!
