City pool opening Sunday

Bonners Ferry City  PoolThe Bonners Ferry City Pool, 7040 Helena Street, will open for the 2024 season this Sunday, June 9, offering free swimming through August 31, plus swimming lessons for ages four years old and up and of all skill levels. And once again, aquatic group fitness classes are a go!

Join Michelle Walker with Walker Wellness for bootcamp and H2O Circuit Training utilizing state of the art equipment: Aqualogix, aquatic punching bags, barbells, frisbees (don’t knock it ’til you try it), wall work, swing trainers and more!

There will be two sessions of 10 classes each with session 1 running June 24 to July 24 and session 2 from July 29 through August 28 with classes at 6:30 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday.

Aquatic group fitness classes are $55 per session per person and you can sign up and pay at Bonners Ferry City Hall, 7232 Main Street, for sessions 1 or 2 or both. No walk-in or single class fees.

Swim lessons are offered from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Forms for lessons must completed at city hall.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first served basis and due to limited class sizes and times, only one session per child will be allowed.

Special needs swimming lessons will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. July 8.

This year’s pool hours are:

Monday through Friday

  • 8-9 a.m.: Lap Swim
  • 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Swim Lessons
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Lap Swim
  • 1:15 to 5 p.m.: Open Swim
  • 5:15 to 6:30 p.m.: Family Swim
  • 7 to 8 p.m.: Reserved for private events-weather and visibility permitting.

Saturday and Sunday

  • Noon to 1:00 p.m.: Lap Swim
  • 1:15 to 5 p.m.: Open Swim
  • 5:15 to 6:30 p.m.: Family Swim
